Our story begins in the most romantic of settings: a cold, cloudy Fourth of July, surrounded by dogs, screaming children, and a surplus of extended family. After years searching for the right person, Laurel—an eager Canadian nurse-practitioner student—and Justin—an all-American AVL specialist—were brought together, not by fate, but by something even better: Laurel's brother, who happened to be Justin's boss.
The two shared a love-at-first-sight moment: in a noisy crowd, they were inexplicably fixated on each other, and though few words were exchanged, they later agreed they "just knew" this felt right.
After some light conversation, the couple shared a first date that could be rivalled only by a Hallmark movie, complete with literal fireworks and plenty of sparks. Since then, their love has grown, conquering long distance, graduate school, work pressures, and international borders.
Laurel and Justin are overjoyed to be getting married in Pittsburgh on October 11, 2026, and can't wait to celebrate with family and friends.
